Abstract:
GDA CropID 2024 Brazil map is a GIS raster format product with 250-meter spatial resolution. The map offers various land cover classes, including 2023/2024 corn (2nd harvest) for Brazil, as well as cotton locations for Goiás, Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul. For a complete list of classes, see the “Classification Categories” section.
2024 refers to the crop harvest year.
GDA CropID maps utilize time series of GDA GeoChronicles™ imagery coverages. GDA GeoChronicles™ are global deep time series of 10-day, 10-meter analysis ready optical satellite imagery coverages produced by GDA Corp by fusing Copernicus Sentinel-2A and Sentinel-2B imagery and NASA / USGS Landsat 8 and Landsat 9 imagery.
GDA uses deep time series of GeoChronicles™ composites to identify crop type and land cover locations during each given season.
The CropID product is produced by GDA Corp for USDA Foreign Agricultural Service (USDA FAS) under a Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) contract with the USDA/FAS/GMA/IPAD.
