GIMMS Global Agricultural Monitoring

About

Use the GIMMS Global Agricultural Monitoring (GLAM) interface to view and retrieve global NDVI imagery and time series data for the following datasets:

The GIMMS/GLAM MODIS and VIIRS datasets are derived from the near real-time and standard Collection 6.1 MOD09 and MYD09, and Collection 2 VNP09 and VJ109 surface reflectance products, which are provided by NASA/GSFC/EOSDIS LANCE and NASA/GSFC MODAPS. The GIMMS/GLAM OLCI dataset is derived from the CGLOPS-1 NDVI 300M version 2 product, provided by the Global Land Service of Copernicus, the Earth Observation programme of the European Commission.

The GIMMS/GLAM system is developed and provided by the NASA/GSFC/GIMMS group for the USDA/FAS/IPAD Global Agricultural Monitoring project. The USDA/FAS/IPAD mission is to provide objective, timely, and regular assessment of the global agricultural production outlook and conditions affecting global food security.

Acknowledgments

The GIMMS Global Agricultural Monitoring (GLAM) System is funded through an interagency agreement grant between USDA/FAS/OGA and NASA/GSFC.

We acknowledge the use of data products from the Land, Atmosphere Near real-time Capability for EOS (LANCE) system operated by the NASA/GSFC/Earth Science Data and Information System (ESDIS) with funding provided by NASA/HQ.

The MODIS & VIIRS Surface Reflectance 8-Day L3 Global 250m and 500m datasets are acquired from the Level-1 & Atmosphere Archive and Distribution System (LAADS) Distributed Active Archive Center (DAAC), located in the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland (https://ladsweb.nascom.nasa.gov/).

The Copernicus Global Land Service NDVI 300m NDVI V2 product is generated by the Global Land Service of Copernicus, the Earth Observation programme of the European Commission.
